The Daily Newspaper is filled with news like this which reflect the huge requirement and opportunity for skilled Electronics and Telecom engineers for the development of India in theme of " Digital India, Make in India by" Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. So to meet this immediate and bulk requirement, department of ECE is committed to provide in-depth theoretical knowledge and skilled practical training on these emerging fields  in Electronics & Communication engineering.
In view of the increasing importance of the Electronics Engineering discipline, SISTec started the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2007 to offer Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication. Later, the institute also started offering a PG course in Digital Communication and VLSI Design. The Department has always been on a high growth path. It has experienced and dedicated faculties with a strong commitment to engineering education. Faculties have published their research work in reputed journals/conferences.
To keep pace with current technological trends and emerging technologies, apart from focusing on regular curriculum, students are also imparted skill training from experienced and skilled professional from Industry as well as Reputed Institutes. To bridge the gap, Department has also tied up with Training Partners(TP) under PMKVY (Pradahan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yogna) & NSDC scheme. Recently students underwent Advance Telecom Training (3G/4G/Optical Fiber) for a month and with help of training, several students of department got opportunity of getting placement in good telecom companies.
Also department has formed a EC Student Technical club Electro-pulse under guidance of HOD & Sr Faculty members.  The purpose of club is to enhance technical and communication skill of every students through various activities time to time e.g., Hands On Workshops, Seminar, Industrial Visits, Presentation, GD/Debate, Interviews etc.
The department boasts of fully equipped laboratories with test & measuring equipment and has qualified trainers specially designed for lab work.
The alumni of this department are well-placed in reputed organizations and some of them are pursuing M.Tech, MBA and MS courses in India & abroad. The department is proud of good placements in reputed companies like Infosys, Accenture, Virtusa, ADP, LVL7, INFOSYS, MAHINDRA, SATYAM, GE, WIPRO, ADP-Wilco & Polaris Value labs and many more.
Moreover, the department has also introduced a technical club named “Electro-Pulse” with the motto of encouraging true experimenting nature of engineering students. The centre contains Softwares for designing PCB layout ,  AVR Microcontroller Development boards with burner , Drill machine,  Soldering kit & all types of components,  Testing and Measurement Instruments required for completing Minor & Major Projects. During free time any student / staff of any department can come to this centre for completing their projects. This centre is consistently supported by staff and the management.

Courses Offered Intake
SISTec - BE 120
The undergraduate program in ECE Engineering has been designed to gear students to face challenging jobs in manufacturing industry and orient them towards specializing in their field of interest. Apart from core departmental courses such as Analog / Digital Circuits, signal systems, Micro-processors, and Antenna theory, the program also constitutes subjects in instrumentation, manufacturing and measurement sectors. Towards the end, concepts such as industrial economics and management principles are covered. Students can also choose from inter-departmental courses for their electives. In-plant training, industrial visits and projects during the course of the program enable students to get a hands-on experience in the industry.
Department of ECE at SISTec is fully equipped with world-class infrastructure and faculty for quality education delivery.
Details of ECE Labs are:
  • Analog Communication (AC) Lab
    The laboratory is well equipped with different modulation and demodulation kits such as AM, FM, DSB-SC, SSB-SC, and TDM, AM receiver trainer kit
  • Microprocessor & Micro Controller (MP&MC) Lab
    The laboratory has been established to fulfill the needs in the area of microprocessors & micro controllers focusing on embedded systems. The lab has 10 micro-controller trainer kits, 15 micro-processor trainer kits and 5 micro controller development board sets. In addition to these a wide range of micro controllers and microprocessors are available for experiments and project work. In addition to these there are 36 networked computer systems with latest configuration.
  • Micro Wave & Optical Communication (MW&OC) Lab
    This laboratory is well equipped with 2 Reflex
    Klystron test benches, 1 Gunn Oscillators test benches with different kinds of loads. It also consists of 2 VSWR meters, 3 CROs, 7 fiber optic trainer kits for determining the characteristics of LED, LASER and photo detector. Microwave antennas like Pyramidal horn, E-Plane and H-Plane sectoral horns are also available.
  • Digital Communication (DC) Lab
    The lab has a number of digital communication trainer kits such as ASK,
    FSK, PSK, PCM and DPCM etc. The lab also consists of 30 MHz CROs, 4 Channel 60 MHz Digital storage oscilloscopes and 3MHz Function generators
  • Electronic Circuit Lab
    In this laboratory, the students are trained to design various electronic circuits like power amplifiers, tuned amplifiers, regulators, oscillators, feedback amplifiers using TINA PRO software and hardware trainer kits. The lab has hardware trainer kits,
    CRO’s, DC power supplies, Function Generators, Multimeters for conducting hardware experiments. The lab is equipped with 42 number of computer systems with online UPS which are networked.
    The lab is set up according to the standards set by RGTU. The lab has sufficient soft ware such as MICROWIND (30 user keys), Xilinx Universal trainer unit, FPGA module, VLSI design suit consisting of universal base unit, XILINX CPLD module and Spartan-II.
  • Advanced Communications Lab
    The Advanced Communication is a state of the art trend setting communication lab with Doppler radar Setup and MATLAB for simulating the coding techniques , Bit Error Rate(BER) measurement using the latest CDMA technology .
  • Digital Circuits Lab
    This lab includes Digital IC trainer kits, digital and analog IC testers, 7-segment displays, LEDs, signal generators, and different combinational and sequential logic trainer kits.
The department is also fully equipped with facilities such as AV Room, Computer Labs, Auditorium, Conference Room & Career Services.
